How good are you at keeping a secret?

Because I, Juniper Perry, have been keeping a big one.

For over a decade, I’ve been crushing on the guy with the easy smile, warm brown eyes, and charismatic charm. He’s all the perfect things that, when you add them up, spell out Man of my dreams.

I know that doesn’t sound bad at all, but there’s more to this story...

We work together. I’m a lowly intern, and he’s a high-powered executive.

He’s my newest neighbor. No joke—he’s temporarily living next door to me.

And to top it all off, he’s my best friend’s older brother.

I’ve spent what feels like an eternity keeping my crush on him a secret, but recently, I’ve found a way to have him and my anonymity too. A way to chat and flirt and get close to him.

My best friend doesn’t know about these Midnight chats.

And he doesn’t know I’m the girl he’s talking to night after night.

Beau Banks might be completely off-limits, but what happens at Midnight stays between us...

I would like to thank NetGalley for the free ARC in exchange for a review. The opinions stated here are my own and no one else's.

I have quite a few thoughts on this.

This was my first read by Max Monroe. I've had them on my long list of authors to read and finally got around to them. I'm glad I did.

I really enjoyed the story. The plot. And (most) of the characters.

Juniper and Beau together are amazing. I loved them. The banter had me swooning and laughing. Beau was such a cinnamon roll which I'm a sucker for. I enjoyed watching Juniper grow out of her shy shell and be more outgoing.

I could not stand Avery. I'm sorry I just couldn't. Every time she came onto the scene, I cringed. She made me want to put the book down. I'm glad I stuck to it. After the epilogue, I'm curious to read her story, though it might take me a while to get through it.

I also got so frustrated with the "3rd act breakup". Not with the breakup itself but with Juniper and the way she acted. It all worked out at the end, though and I'll recommend this book to anyone who likes friends-to-lovers, best friends big brother, with steam and banter.
